Tarrell and I wake up to leave for the airport. We must have been ready to go, cause ona regular day, we can't even get up at 6 am LOL. Jared and Alesha were driving to the airport, so we walked to their house at 3 AM. Evidentally, they werne't quite as pumped as we were, cause they weren't ready. Our plane left at 6 am, which takes 1 1/2 hours to get there and supposed to leave an hour in there, so we made it just in time.
We arrived in Denver for a short layover, where we enjoyed a large breakfast. The guys treated themselves to an early happy hour at 6 AM. I thinks Jared's was a little stout, as we was feelin the affects on the plane later.
Finally...we land in Orange County. Not so sunny California as we were looking forward to. It rained all day Friday, but not like Kansas rain. It was just a light mist, so it was bearable. A good friend of ours, Tinky, picked us up at the airport in none other, the Rangerover. We felt pretty special for a few days riding around in this.

de it to teh Doubletree and got checked in. This is where all of the fighters and their crews were staying, so it was packed with MMA junkies! It was quite a sight to see all of these guys. I have never seen so much Affliction gear in one weekend!
We wanted to check out ESPN Zone, so we decided that's where we woudl eat lunch. It was only about 3 miles from our hotel, but it took us about an hour to find it. Even with Navigation, ESPN Zone did not want to be found. It was in teh Disneyland District, so we got to see that too. The weigh-ins were at 3 pm, so we headed to the Honda Center after a few too many expensive drinks and lunch.
After the weigh-in's...we stopped by The Grove Theater and bought our tickets for that nights event, Mike Epps Stand Up Comedy Show. This was absolutely hilarious. Again, drinks weren't what we are used to around here! $9 bucks for a damn drink?! Come on. But they were sure makin that money, cause you always had to wait in line for one.
Saturday morning, we woke up to more rain. We went and found some breakfast before the guys headed out to golf. Tarrell was determined to golf in Cali, so they went out and got a little wet. Alesha, Megan, and I went shopping instead. There was an awesome outdoor mall right behind our hotel. This blew my trip's budget, but oh, well. I can't pass up a good deal.
Fight time was getting closer. LC called and was trying to get ahold of Tarrell to tell him he could go backstage with him and walk out with him if he got back to the hotel by 2. When he heard this, he dropped his golf clubs and was back at the hotel ready to go!
Some of our other friends, who we met through LC at other fights, Amanda and Josh, met us at our hotel for happy hour. Then, we all headed over to the Honda Center for this HUGE EVENT!!!
LC was the 3rd fight of the night. It wasn't as crowded for his fight, so Amanda and I went down to the front row to get a better view and for better pics. We had great seats anwyays, thanks to LC! He came out with the victory after 3 rounds of hard core battle. Tarrell got his little TV time on HD Net Live. The kids were at home watching, which was pretty cool, casue they saw daddy and Uncle LC on tv. Now that his fight was over, the nerves were gone, and we had one of the most enjoyable evenings we had had in a long time. We went to the after-party at Lucky Strike Bowling Alley with some of the fighters from the card. Tarrell and I got lots of pictures with fighters and celebrities. It was an experience I will never forget!!!
Sunday....Time to go home...:(
Our plane didn't leave until 4 pm, so we spent some more time at the mall and had lunch with Megan and her fiance, Adam. They took us to the airport later that afternoon. We didn't get back in KC til around 12:30, after a few delays because of the snow. We were defenitely draggin at work on Monday!
